Only 1260 bottles of this 4th vintage Cap Classique were produced. This Blanc de Blanc is 100% Chardonnay from the oldest block on La Bri – planted in 1991. The grapes for this iconic wine were hand-picked on the 26th of January 2015.
This is a wine to savour – a classic MCC. Refreshingly dry and crispy, with tones of lemon, it is a treat for the senses. Well balanced with a good finish, it has a rich mouth feel with elegant fine bubbles.
Each bottle is hand numbered. The design on each metal cap reflects a flower on the label. The first 2011 vintage the flower was closed, and it opens slightly with each vintage.
The Flower, Serruria Florida, is commonly known as the Blushing Bride or the Pride of Franschhoek. This flower represents a celebration of life and love and a recognition of the the history of La Bri and the origins of the grapes.
Sauvage La Bri (Wild La Bri), is a play on the term Sabrage (to method of opening a champagne bottle using a sabre) and the French word for wild or untamed.
